  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • rind of 2 oranges

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs; beat well.

    Dissolve soda in sour cream; add to mixture alternately with flour and baking powder.

    Add rind and nuts; mix by hand.

    Bake in tube pan at 350° for 1 hour.

    When done, mix juice of 2 oranges with 1 cup sugar; heat to dissolve sugar.

    Pour over baked cake slowly.
