  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. prunes, cooked and cut in pieces
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Beat eggs.

    Add sugar and oil and beat well.

    Mix dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.

    Add nuts, prunes and vanilla and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Remove from oven and poke cake full of holes with a fork and pour the topping over the cake hot and spread.
