  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1/2 c. lard or margarine
  • 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • flour

Directions

    Pour milk in large bowl with lard or margarine, potatoes and sugar.

    Let cool to lukewarm.

    Add dissolved yeast, then add enough flour to make consistency of biscuit dough.

    Set aside one hour. At this point, dough can be stored in refrigerator for several days.

    Pinch out biscuits when wanted.

    When taken from refrigerator, need to let rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour; bake at 350°.
