  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. soda crackers, broken
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 pkg. whipped topping
  • cherry or pineapple pie filling

    Beat cream of tartar, egg whites and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar to the ingredients that were beaten.

    Fold in broken crackers and add nuts.

    Spread on a greased oblong cookie sheet.

    Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

    Cool.

    Make whipped topping as directed on package.

    Spread on cold crust, then top with pie filling.
