Ingredients

  • 1 lb. 90% ground beef or turkey
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms or fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen spinach
  • 6 oz. cottage cheese
  • 4 oz. Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Saute onion and ground meat.

    Add seasonings, tomato sauce and mushrooms.

    Squeeze liquid from thawed spinach and mix with cottage cheese.

    Cut Mozzarella cheese in strips.

    In a 7 x 11-inch baking dish, arrange in layers the spinach mix, meat mix and Mozzarella; repeat.

    Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
