- 4 c. Granny Smith apples
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1/4 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/3 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Peel and core apples; cut into thin slices.

2In a heavy saucepan, bring apples, sugar, cinnamon, cinnamon stick and butter to a boil.

3Cook over high heat 5 minutes until sugars dissolve. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.

4Remove cinnamon stick.
