Ingredients
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 2 tsp. dill seed
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 unbeaten egg (at room temperature)
- 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. bread flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Heat until lukewarm cottage cheese, sugar, minced onion, dill seed, butter, salt and soda.

3Add unbeaten egg and yeast mixture.

4Mix in to form a stiff dough, bread flour.

5Let mixture rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, 50 to 60 minutes.

6Stir the dough down.

7Turn into a well-greased casserole dish or two loaf pans.

8Let rise in a warm place for 40 minutes.

9Bake at 350° for 45 minutes until golden brown.

10Spread butter and salt on top after removing from oven.
