Directions

   Cook sugar, water, Karo and salt to soft ball stage. While this is cooking, beat egg whites. Pour 1/2 of cooked mixture into beaten egg whites and continue beating while the other half of the mixture cooks to hard ball (or crackle) stage.

   Pour into mixture and beat until it loses its gloss.

   Pour immediately into buttered dish.

   Make on a clear day.
