- 4 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine sugar, salt, syrup and water.

2Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.

3Boil to 265° on candy thermometer.

4Remove from heat; pour half of the syrup slowly over egg whites, beating with electric mixer.

5Return syrup to stove. Cook to 300°.

6Pour slowly over egg white mixture.

7Beat until stiff. Add nuts and vanilla.

8Beat by hand until firm. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.

9Let stand until firm.

10Store in airtight container.
