Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. white syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cook first 3 ingredients until it spins a thread, then pour 1/2 of mixture in beaten egg whites.

    Cook the other half until it hardens in cool water, then add the other half.

    Beat until creamy.

    Add vanilla and nuts, if desired.

    Pour into buttered pan; cut into squares when cool.
