Ingredients
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. corn syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions

1Combine corn syrup, water, salt and sugar in a 3-quart saucepan.

2Boil to 265° (hard ball stage).

3Beat egg whites stiff in large mixer bowl; gradually beat in the boiling syrup.

4Beat until it begins to stiffen.

5Add vanilla and nuts.

6Beat again and pour into a pan, greased slightly with salad oil or butter.

7(I have a favorite pan that measures 7 x 11-inches).

8Cut into squares when cool.
