  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white Karo
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Place sugar, syrup and water in heavy saucepan over low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Cook without stirring to 255°. Remove from heat and pour in a constant fine stream into already beaten egg whites. Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.

    Add vanilla and nuts. Spread into a buttered 9 x 12-inch pan and cut into squares when firm.
