Ingredients
- 1 c. pecan pieces
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Line a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jellyroll pan with aluminum foil. Butter foil and set pan aside.

2Combine pecan pieces, sugar, corn syrup and salt in a heavy 2-quart saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring gently, until sugar dissolves.

3Cover and cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals from sides of pan.

4Uncover and cook to hard crack stage (300°).

5Stir in butter, vanilla and baking soda.

6Pour mixture into prepared pan, spreading thinly.

7Let cool.

8Break into pieces.

9Yield:
