Ingredients

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 3 c. diced or broken bread (stale biscuits, buns, bread, etc.)
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • cinnamon to taste or 1 tsp.
  • raisins (optional)

Directions

    Combine milk and water.

    Add margarine and let melt.

    Pour over bread to soften.

    Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Pour into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

    Set dish in shallow pan of hot water to bake.

    Bake at 325° for about 1 hour, or until knife blade inserted near middle comes out clean.
