- 3/4 c. warm water (not hot)
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in deep bowl; add sugar, salt and about half of flour.

2Beat thoroughly two minutes.

3Add egg and shortening and beat in remaining flour.

4Let rise in bowl in warm place about 50 minutes.

5Stir batter down and place in greased muffin pans.

6Let rise 30 minutes and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 425°.
