- 1 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and half of the flour.

2Beat with spoon, then add egg and shortening.

3Beat in rest of the flour.

4Let rise until double, about 30 minutes. Stir down raised dough. Spoon into muffin cups.

5Let rise again 20 to 30 minutes. Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

6Yields 12 rolls.
