Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Cream the butter, sugar and beaten eggs thoroughly. Add milk and vanilla. Stir. Sift all dry ingredients together.

    Mix well. Put about 1/4 cup flour on top. Refrigerate 1 1/2 hours.

    Have fat hot.

    Roll out about 1/2-inch (use small amount of flour).

    Let rise in fat; turn over quickly.

    Drain on brown paper bags (2).
