- 3 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. milk
- 4 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cream the butter, sugar and beaten eggs thoroughly. Add milk and vanilla. Stir. Sift all dry ingredients together.

2Mix well. Put about 1/4 cup flour on top. Refrigerate 1 1/2 hours.

3Have fat hot.

4Roll out about 1/2-inch (use small amount of flour).

5Let rise in fat; turn over quickly.

6Drain on brown paper bags (2).
