Drunk Cornbread

7 ingredients
9 steps

Ingredients

  • 2 (8 ounce) boxes cornbread mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) bottle beer (your choice, I used Miller High Life because I'm just that classy)
  • 1 egg
  • 12 cup green onion, chopped
  • 12 lb hot sausage, browned and crumbled
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (I used Sriracha)

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. 2
Mix the cornbread mix and egg together.
  3. 3
Stir in enough beer for the mix to be lumpy but not dry.
  4. 4
Toss in the rest of the ingredients until everything is covered with cornbread mix.
  5. 5
If it doesn't look wet enough, add more beer.
  6. 6
If it looks fine, do with the remaining beer what you will.
  7. 7
Place into a bread pan of your choice and cover will aluminium foil.
  8. 8
Place in oven and cook for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  9. 9
Check with toothpick for doneness and if cooked, removed foil and place back in oven for a few minutes, to brown the top of the bread.
