  • 1 gal. vinegar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. pickling salt
  • 1 c. dry mustard
  • 1 c. horseradish
  • 1 piece or spoonful alum
  • cucumbers

Directions

    Mix all ingredients in a crock, except cucumbers.

    Wash cucumbers and add as they are available.

    Put plate over cucumbers in crock.

    Put large rock on plate to hold cucumbers under mixture until cucumbers lighten up.

    They are then ready to eat.
