  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 level Tbsp. shortening
  • 4 c. cooked broth
  • 1 c. warm milk, pour around pot
  • 1 c. (approximately) buttermilk (stiff dough)

Directions

    Bring broth boil.

    Mix flour, soda, salt, shortening and buttermilk.

    Roll out thin on a floured board.

    Cut in squares or strips.
  5. 5
    Cook by layers in boiling broth, then add milk and cooked, deboned chicken pieces.

    I use a 5 or 6 pound hen.
