- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

2Add egg and beat well.

3Gradually stir in flour, blending well (dough will be sticky).

4Divide dough in half.

5Place each portion of dough in a well-greased 8-inch square pan.

6With floured hands, press dough evenly into pans. Place pans in cold oven.

7Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until light brown.

8Cut into 2-inch squares while warm.

9Remove from pans, cool on wire racks.

10Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
