Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
- shredded coconut, dyed green (for grass decoration)
Directions

1Put yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Heat milk with sugar, shortening and salt; cool to warm.

3Stir in 1 cup flour until smooth.

4Add yeast mixture and egg; add flavoring, if desired.

5Add enough flour to make a smooth dough.

6Knead 8 to 10 minutes.

7Place in greased bowl, flip over and let rise for 45 to 50 minutes. Punch down.

8Make 1/3 of dough into 6 egg shapes; place together on a greased baking pan.

9Shape remaining dough into 2 (26 inch) ropes.

10Twist and coil around the eggs.

11Let rise for 50 to 55 minutes.

12Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
