- 2 lb. round or chuck, cubed
- 2 thickly sliced carrots
- 4 oz. water chestnuts, sliced
- 1 c. celery, sliced
- 6 oz. mushrooms, sliced
- 1 (16 oz.) jar small white onions, rinsed
- 1 lb. can diced tomatoes
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) beef broth
- 1 c. Burgundy or red wine
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Combine meat and vegetables in a large casserole.

2Mix together seasonings, flour, sugar and salt.

3Sprinkle over.

4Pour wine and broth over all.

5Cover and bake for 4 hours at 325°.
