- 12 slices bread
- butter, softened
- 2 c. Cheddar cheese
- 1 c. onion (optional)
- 2 c. cooked sausage or ham chunks
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Butter bread slices on both sides.

2Place 6 slices in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Cover with layers of cheese, meat and onion. Top with remaining 6 slices of bread. Beat eggs.

3Mix in milk, salt and pepper.

4Pour over mixture in pan.

5Cover and refrigerate overnight (or all day).

6Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50 minutes.
