Easy Cheesy Lasagna

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage or ground beef
  • 1/2 c. onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (32 oz.) jar (3 1/2 c.) spaghetti sauce
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. extra wide lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. (2 c.) Ricotta or creamy-style cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 3 c. (12 oz.) Mozzarella cheese, shredded

    Heat oven to 375°.

    Brown Italian sausage (or ground beef), onions and garlic.

    Drain.

    Return meat mixture to pan and stir in spaghetti sauce and water.

    In a 13 x 9-inch baking dish, layer 1/3 of sauce mixture, half the uncooked noodles, half the combined Ricotta or cottage cheese and parsley and 1/2 of Mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce mixture.

    Cover with foil.

    Bake 1 hour, uncover and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
