- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 stick margarine
- dash of salt
- 2 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Combine ingredients and cook over low heat until margarine is melted.

2Do not boil.

3Pour into unbaked pie shell.

4Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.

5Reduce heat to 350°; bake 25 to 30 minutes or until firm.

6Lemon juice may be used instead of vinegar for delicious lemon-chess pie or add about 3/4 cup coconut to plain chess recipe and have coconut-chess pie.
