Easy Deer Roast

- 1 deer roast
- 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
- water
- flour
- shortening
Directions

1Coat roast with flour.

2Heat shortening and brown roast on all sides.

3Place roast in Dutch oven or electric slow cooker. Sprinkle flour in hot shortening and stir.

4Brown for 2 minutes. Add water to thin gravy.

5Pour over roast.

6Douse roast with onion soup mix.

7Cover tightly and simmer or bake at low heat (250°) until tender, about 1 1/2 hours per pound of roast.

8Roast cooks best at low temperature.
