- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. margarine or butter
- 3/4 c. slivered almonds
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 (12 oz.) jar strawberry jam
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Grease one 15 x 10 x 1/2-inch cookie pan.

3Sift together 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt.

4Set aside.

5In large bowl, cream together sugar and margarine until fluffy.

6Add flour mixture to creamed mixture.

7Beat on low speed until crumbly.

8Add almonds, lemon peel and eggs.

9Stir with fork until evenly moistened.

10Remove 1 cup dough; set aside.

11Pat remaining dough in pan.

12Spread jam over dough. Keep 1/2-inch from sides.

13Combine remaining 1/4 cup flour with remaining dough; crumble over top.

14Bake 22 to 27 minutes.
