- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 (6 oz.) can (2/3 c.) evaporated milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- dash of salt
- 1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
- 1/4 lb. (about 22) regular marshmallows, quartered
- 1/2 c. broken walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1In heavy 2-quart saucepan, combine the first 4 ingredients. Bring to boiling over medium heat; cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly.

2Remove from heat.

3Immediately add chocolate bits and marshmallows.

4Stir until chocolate and marshmallows are melted.

5Stir in nuts and vanilla.

6Spread into a buttered 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

7Cool; cut into squares.
