Easy German Bean Soup

  • 1 to 2 lb. ham and ham bone
  • 2 qt. green beans or 3 (No. 2) cans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cans navy beans
  • 3 c. potatoes, diced small

Directions

    In large Dutch oven, combine ham, ham bone, green beans with liquid and onion.

    Add just enough water to cover.

    Bring to a boil; simmer 1 hour.

    Add navy beans; cook while you prepare potatoes.

    Add potatoes and simmer 30 minutes more.
