  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 stick butter or margarine

    Mix flour, salt, baking powder and milk.

    Mix fruit, vanilla and sugar.

    1/2 cup peaches, 1/2 cup blackberries or 3/4 cup cherries.

    Heat oven to 450°; put butter in pan; place pan in oven.

    Heat until bubbly, almost brown.

    Quickly pour in batter, then fruit.

    Cook for 30 minutes at 450°.

    Reduce temperature to 350°, cook 30 more minutes.
