Easy Refrigerator Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water (not hot)
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 6 1/2 to 7 c. sifted flour
  • 1 egg (not necessary)
  • 1/4 c. shortening

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water in mixing bowl. Add sugar, salt and half of the flour (approximately 3 1/2 cups). Beat thoroughly. Add egg and shortening.

    Beat in remaining flour. Cover with damp cloth. Place in refrigerator.

    Punch down occasionally.
