Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. Crisco
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 egg
- 4 c. plain flour
Directions

1Dissolve the dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and set aside for 15 minutes.

2Mix the sugar, Crisco and salt.

3Add 1 cup hot water to this and let set for 15 minutes.

4Beat 1 egg in large bowl, adding all of the ingredients.

5Add enough flour (approximately 4 cups) to make a soft dough.

6Cover and let set for 1 hour.

7Punch down and knead until like biscuit dough.

8Roll out and cut out and place in buttered baking pan.

9Brush tops with butter and let set until they double in size.

10Bake at 400° until brown.
