- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- butter
Directions

1Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water.

2Sift flour and salt into bowl.

3Cut in shortening until crumbly.

4Stir in yeast mixture until flour is moistened.

5Chill, tightly covered, overnight.

6Knead on floured surface for 5 minutes; shape as desired.

7Place on greased baking sheet.

8Brush with butter. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
