Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 c. plain flour (do not use self-rising)

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water. Cream shortening, sugar and salt.

    Pour 1 cup hot water over creamed mixture and stir.

    Cool.

    Add yeast and eggs; stir well.

    Gradually add flour and knead dough.

    Place in bowl, cover and put in refrigerator. Pinch off as needed.

    Shape into rolls, brush with melted butter and let rise.

    Bake at 450° for 12 minutes until brown.

    (Will keep in refrigerator several days.)
