- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Mix together the egg, milk, water, sugar and yeast.

2Mix together the flour and shortening so that it looks the size of peas.

3Stir in the liquid mixture to form a soft ball.

4Turn out onto floured board.

5Knead gently.

6Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.

7Butter both sides and place in pan.

8Let rise until double (about 3 hours).

9Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.
