  • 3 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
  • 5 tsp. water
  • 1 c. shortening (Crisco)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 tsp. water
  • 1/2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 egg, well beaten

Directions

    Measure flour and salt; cut in shortening.

    Mix egg, water and vinegar; add gradually to flour as you stir lightly with fork. Roll out and place in pans.

    Should make 3 crusts.

    Bake in 475° oven until lightly browned.

    For unbaked pies, prick with fork.
