Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger, crumbled
  • 1/2 lb. sausage, crumbled
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 slices bread, crumbled
  • 1/2 can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 2 recipes pastry for 2-crust pies
  • melted butter

Directions

    Cook the hamburger, sausage, onion and garlic in a large skillet until brown, stirring frequently.

    Add the chili powder, salt, bread, tomato paste and water and mix well.

    Cook over low heat until thickened.

    Roll out the pastry on a floured surface and cut into 6-inch circles.

    Fold over and crimp the edge with a fork. Brush with butter and place on a baking sheet.

    Bake at 350° until brown.
