- 450 grams butter, softened
- 200 grams Caster Sugar
- 500 grams Plain Flour, sifted
Directions

1Preheat oven to 180C/gas mark 4. line baking trays with baking parchment.

2cream together butter and sugar until fluffy and white.

3Gradually stir in the flour until well blended.

4On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to about 5mm thickness.

5Cut into circles using a pastry or cookie cutter.

6Bake in preheated oven for 8-10mins or until golden brown.

7Allow biscuits to cool on baking trays for 5 mins before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

8Optional: Spread icing or any topping of your choice over the biscuit.
