- 18 oz. flour
- 6 oz. butter
- 3 rounded tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 4 oz. sugar
- 4 oz. raisins
- 2 eggs (1 egg, add milk to get one full cup)
Directions

1Mix cream of tartar, baking soda and flour; rub in butter with pastry fork.

2Add sugar and fruit.

3Mix egg (1) and milk and add to flour mixture until spongy.

4Form into 16 scones and brush with remaining egg.

5Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes.
