  • 1 qt. chopped cabbage
  • 1 qt. boiling water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c. fine crushed crackers
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot milk

    Pour boiling water over cabbage.

    Add salt and pepper; boil for 10 minutes, then drain off water.

    Cream butter and flour in small saucepan, then add the hot milk and salt.

    Bring to a boil. Butter a small casserole dish; sprinkle with cracker crumbs.

    Put sauce and cabbage in layers in baking dish.

    Cover with crumbs. Dot with butter.

    Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

    Uncover and brown.
