  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • about 1 1/2 to 2 c. pecan halves

    Prick bottom and sides of pastry shell; bake at 400° for 5 minutes.

    Set aside to cool.

    Beat eggs until light and lemon colored; add sugar and corn syrup, beating until fluffy.

    Add butter, salt and vanilla; stir well.

    Pour filling into pastry shell.

    Top with pecan halves.

    Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until center is firm.
