- 2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine, cut up
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 large egg
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.

2With pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat buttermilk and egg in small bowl.

3Pour over dry ingredients and stir with fork until mixture comes together.

4On lightly floured surface, knead dough 5 or 6 times.

5Transfer to greased cookie sheet.

6Pat into 8-inch circle and cut into 8 wedges or cut with biscuit cutter.

7Bake in a 425° oven for 14 to 16 minutes.
