- 3 Tbsp. (25 g) unsweetened wheat germ
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. (5 ml) ground cumin
- 1 tsp. (5 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp. (2.5 ml) cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. (2.5 ml) black pepper
- 1 egg
- oil (to fry in)
Directions

1Mash chickpeas in a bowl with a potato masher.

2Add the next 6 ingredients and mix well.

3Form into 12 small patties.

4Heat about 1/2-inch (2 cm) oil in a skillet.

5Fry the felatel on both sides until brown and crispy.

6Drain on paper towels.
