- 1/4 lb. bacon, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 c. tomato juice
- 2 c. picante sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
Directions

1Cook bacon in large saucepan until crisp.

2Remove to paper towel.

3Drain off all but one tablespoon drippings; slowly cook onion in drippings until tender, not brown.

4Add all other ingredients.

5Bring to boil.

6Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

7Ladle into soup bowls.

8Garnish with lime slices.

9Serve with corn chips. Serves 6.
