- 1/2 c. baking soda
- 3 1/2 lb. (8 c.) sugar
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 6 sticks cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. cloves
Directions

1Wash figs and sprinkle baking soda over figs.

2Cover with boiling water and let stand 10 minutes.

3Drain and wash.

4Add clear hot water to figs and let boil until tender, about 15 minutes.
