- 3 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. salad oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. fig preserves
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cream sugar, eggs and salad oil until well blended.

2Sift together flour and spices.

3Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add flour mixture and buttermilk to the egg mixture.

4Add fig preserves and pecans.

5Bake in a greased tube pan at 350° for about 1 hour or until done.

6This makes a large cake that will keep in the refrigerator indefinitely.

7It can also be frozen.
