- 1 1/2 sticks margarine
- 4 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 2 c. pecans, chopped
- 1 pt. fig preserves
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4Add vanilla.

5Sift flour, cinnamon, allspice, salt and baking soda in separate bowl.

6Place small amount of flour mixture in small bowl.

7Dredge pecans in mixture; set aside.

8Add remaining flour and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture. Add fig preserves and floured pecans.

9Bake for 1 hour in tube pan, greased and floured.

10Reduce oven temperature to 300° and bake an additional 15 minutes.
