- 6 lb. figs
- 3 lb. sugar
- 1/4 c. soda
- 1 large lemon
Directions

1Wash figs and add soda.

2Cover with hot water; let stand 5 minutes, then rinse well.

3Add sugar and start cooking.

4Add juice of lemon and cut peeling into small slices.

5Cook 30 minutes first day and then set aside.

6Cook 30 minutes second day and then set aside.
-
7Cook 30 minutes third day or until desired thickness and syrup will be clear.

8Seal when hot in hot jars, using paraffin to cover preserves before applying lid.
