- 4 lb. figs
- 3 lb. sugar
- 1 lemon, sliced thin
- 1 pt. white Karo
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 Tbsp. lime
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Wash figs, using only firm figs with stems.

2Soak for 10 minutes in lime water (1 tablespoon air slaked lime to 1 gallon water).

3Drain.

4Soak in plain water for 10 minutes.

5Drain; let stand in salt water for 10 minutes (1 tablespoon salt to each gallon water).

6Drain well, but do not rinse.
